Local Historian Says Change Is Imminent

For those who don't already know, I left the security of my full time job nearly three years ago to start the Capitol Hill Historical Society and pursue a career in history. I took up part-time rideshare driving so that I could have the requisite flexibility while making just enough to pay the bills. I am proud to say that this has worked out pretty well so far. Not only has the society I co-founded been grant-funded and continuing to grow, but also I finally received my first paying history project, a landmark nomination, back in April and have since then found some additional work writing smaller research reports all while staying solvent.

Therefore, I have decided that it is now time to to take the next step by announcing my intention to retire from driving by the end of the year in order to start the new decade with a renewed and expanded focus on building my career in history.

To further signal this transition, I have decided to update my website with a new look and new content. So feel free to take a look and let me know what you think!

I'm also seeking advice, recommendations, and also any leads on additional research and writing projects that can help make this transition a most successful one. Many thanks to all who have encouraged and supported me over the years. I am really excited to take this next step in my life and my career!
